Jemele Hill Suspended by ESPN After Jerry Jones Tweet

This is the second time the ESPN host has violated the company’s social media guidelines.

ESPN has suspended SportsCenter host Jemele Hill after she used Twitter to publicly slam Jerry Jones’s decision to bench any players who “disrespect the flag” by kneeling during the national anthem, the New York Times is reporting.

“Change happens when advertisers are impacted,” Hill tweeted on Monday. “If you feel strongly about JJ’s statement, boycott his advertisers.”

ESPN called the tweet “impulsive” in a statement and did not specify whether or not Hill will be paid during her suspension. The tweet comes just a month after Hill tweeted that President Trump is a white supremacist; the fallout from the tweet led the White House to call for her firing, and a public relations nightmare ensued for ESPN.
