After resigning from ESPN following his self-admitted substance abuse issues, which led to him being targeted in a cocaine extortion plot, John Skipper has landed a new job with another sports media company.
In a press release, U.K.-based Perform Group named Skipper as their new executive chairman.
Perform Group’s main business is an online service called DAZN (pronounced “Da Zone”) that streams live events of the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, NCAA and other North American-based sports leagues to subscribers overseas.
In his new role, Skipper will oversee all of Perform Group’s operations and strategy and help support the company’s goal of global expansion across all divisions.
“John is one of the most significant leaders in the history of our industry, and I am delighted that he has agreed to join me and the team to help take Perform to the next level of our ambitions,” said Perform Group CEO Simon Denyer.
