Following the reopening of an investigation into an alleged rape in 2009 in Las Vegas, Juventus forward Cristiano Ronaldo has once again denied the allegations.

Days after he called the sexual charges against him “fake news,” Ronaldo addressed the charges against him via a series of social media posts.

In a Twitter post on Wednesday, the all-world soccer star wrote that rape is “an abominable crime” and said he “firmly” denies the accusations against him.

Ronaldo’s accuser, 34-year-old Kathryn Mayorga, alleges he raped her at the Palms Hotel and Casino and then paid her a $375,000 settlement not to disclose what had happened.

Mayorga said she #MeToo movement inspired her to come forward and that is why she has brought the allegations to light after so much time has passed.

She has also filed a civil lawsuit against him.
