Wes Anderson.

After nearly twenty years of coating the world in his nostalgic, sans-serif’d, beta-male, daddy-issue’d patina, it’s safe to say that no matter what you think of the guy, his effect is visible (especially come Halloween time).

And especially here: Bad Dads, an Anderson-inspired art exhibit, opening tonight.

Running through the 23rd, the show features the work of more than a hundred artists who’ve accepted Mr. Anderson into their hearts and onto their canvases.

The opening party will quirk on through the weekend with costume parties (because we need more of that) tonight and Saturday and culminate in a triple feature at the Castro Theatre (Bottle Rocket, Tenenbaums and Moonrise) on Sunday.

What’s left after the weekend goes online Monday for your shopping cart pleasure.

Now if you’ll excuse us, we’re going to go on an overnight drunk, and in ten days we’re going to set out to find the shark that ate our friend and destroy it. Anyone who would care to join us is more than welcome.
