Clyde and Seek

By The Editors

Walt “Clyde” Frazier. NBA Hall of Famer. Voice of the New York Knicks. Enemy of grey beards everywhere.

And: the guy who wants to rent you his house in St. Croix.

Clyde, who’s long since dropped his mink coats for T-shirts, owns six immaculately tended acres on the largest of the Virgin Islands.

And on those acres, he designed twelve different rental homes himself, from beachside bungalows to garden cabanas.

The main house, complete with jacuzzi and deck, rests on top of a hillside overlooking the Green Kay Marina and Tamarind Reef.

He recommends visiting between December and April.

“That’s when God resides down there,” he tells us.

He says he can frequently be found in St. Croix, gardening and enjoying the occasional meal or day-trip with his guests – “It’s where you see the other side of Clyde.”

As for those seeking the more intense Clyde of yesteryear, he’ll be holding court this Friday at Rubin Museum’s “Brainwaves” series, in which scientists chat with everyone from an astronaut to a face transplant surgeon about how our brain reacts to high-pressure scenarios.

Something one in St. Croix doesn’t need to worry about.
