The umbrella hasn’t been invented that can keep a man’s shoes dry.

And to that, we say look no further than SWIMS, the most dapper footwear you can wear for inclement weather, available now.

SWIMS are from Norway, where they know a thing about winter weather. After all, it’s where Lucas filmed the Hoth scenes for “Star Wars.”

SWIMS actually got their start protecting shoes rather than making them. Their artfully modern rubber galoshes slide neatly over your leather-soled footwear, simultaneously protecting them from the elements (damn salt stains) and providing much-needed tread on slick sidewalks (damn broken necks).

SWIMS then applied their disdain for Mother Nature to a full line of dapper shoes and boots crafted from weatherproof materials – from waterproof desert boots (har) to two-tone, fleece-lined sneakers, to even nylon-and-rubberized wingtips available in both shoe and boot incarnations.

They’re also peddling leather accented nylon duffels, and have a line of raincoats and parkas primed to hit US shores next year.

Expanding the Empire, if you will.

SWIMS can be found at Brooks Brothers and Scoop NYC in the city, and online at both KITH.com and Sneakerhead.com.
