The Nine New Burgers Every New Yorker Must Try

Don’t argue with a New Yorker about his favorite pizza joint.

You won’t change his mind.

The best burger, on the other hand, is a conversation we’ll happily revisit on the regular.

To wit: we’ve done some heavy lifting of late to determine the nine best new(ish) burgers in town.

One’s half bacon. One’s all . All are ready to make your bloody day.

The Horny Ram
The star here? The South of the Border. Made with a Pat LaFrieda patty, Mexican street corn and pepper jack cheese, all served on a Parker House bun with Sea Salt Fries and a pickle. There should always be a pickle.

You’re going to spend $22 on a burger, and it’s going to be worth it. The 50-50 is made with 50% ground bacon and 50% beef, finished with onion jam and pepper jack and served on a house-made brioche bun. Too spendy for your taste? They’re serving an $11 50-50 for lunch every Friday through Labor Day.

Full disclosure: we hit this place up twice. The TM Burger is a generous slab of beef topped with bacon, jalapeno jack, fried pickled onions, cherry peppers and special sauce. And it’s one of the city’s best, trust.

Burger & Lobster
Prepare thyself for The Beast. B&L uses a proprietary blend of three cuts of Nebraska Hereford beef ground exclusively for the restaurants by Pat LaFrieda on the daily. You’re getting a six-oz. patty topped with three oz. of lobster meat, Swiss cheese and a house-made truffle aioli on custom-baked sesame seed brioche-potato. Basically, it’s hand-held surf ‘n’ turf. You can’t go wrong.
