The California bad-boy look of the ’50s and ’60s will always be around. You can take that to the bank.

Your go-to outfitter for that kind of heritage leather: The Blackacre, a Fullerton-based workshop making custom goods inspired by the Golden State’s golden era, taking orders now.

The Blackacre is Ray Lansburg, a graphic designer who swapped a life of coffee-sipping and mouse-clicking for cutting and stitching leather stuffs.

Like the vertical billfold he made for the first edition of Nice Work, a video series that highlights American artisans produced by one of our favorite boutiques, Shelter Half.

Ray also makes handsome chain wallets, minimalistic belts and cuffs, sourcing his hides from centuries-old tanneries.

Orders take six-to-eight weeks to fill. To meet the man in person, head to Inspiration LA this Friday and Saturday.
