Usually you go camping for the peace and quiet.

This is not one of those times.

Because this is Camp-In Movies, a new adventure that will bring pop-up, camp-in cinemas to campsites throughout central and southern California.

CIM books the sites, picks the movies — which air on a 12-foot screen with 800-watt speakers — and runs a boozy concession stand that’d make a Silverlaker’s mustache twirl (Verve Coffee, PBR, Westside Wine Co., Fliquor Bean Whiskey).

There will be popcorn as well, but you’ll want to bring some food for breakfast, lunch and dinner. (For that, we recommend Fireside Provisions.)

First up: Moonrise Kingdom on July 29, in the Cuyama Valley. If that date doesn’t jibe with your calendar, follow them on Instagram or Twitter to see when the stars align.

After the movie’s over, you’ll hang around the bonfire, chat and stargaze.

There might be a little peace and quiet after all.

Nota bene: No gear? Camp-In runs a deal with Joymode, a gear rental service.
