If it looks like a plane, and it sounds like a plane, and it flies like a plane, it’s probably a plane.

Unless it weighs one-and-a-half pounds and stays intact on impact with the sidewalk you just piloted it into.

Then it’s probably Parrot Disco, a foam-body/plastic-frame drone that takes some major structural detours from the quadcopter-style drones that have until now dominated the consumer market.

In addition to its distinctive winged design, the Disco is WiFi-equipped, has a stabilized camera for better-than-average footage, launches with ease and lands itself. And the drone’s autopilot capabilities and compatibility with immersive first person viewing glasses ensure that even the most novice pilot can experience a successful flight straight out of the box.

Per Parrot: “Just mount the wings to the body and throw it in the air. No piloting skills are required. Flying Disco will make you feel like a falcon with incredible speed and precision.”

It’ll also make you feel quicker than Usain Bolt (max speed: 27.44 mph), an ostrich (43 mph) and the world’s fastest baby stroller.
