Which hiking boots should you buy this summer? Filson and Danner just made that decision real easy.

There’s a lot to love about the Danner Trail 2650 GTX Mid hiking boots. They’re impressively light (coming in at just 28 ounces), there’s the waterproof but breathable Gore-Tex liner, the combination of boot brawn and sneaker comfort, and the literally multifaceted Vibram outsole. But this week, it has been topped.

Now, the jam-packed hiking boot comes in a limited Filson edition. The longtime Seattle outfitter partnered with the longtime Portland bootmaker to create the Filson x Danner 2650 GTX Mid. It’s a bit of a symbolic collaboration, as Filson notes it’s “inspired by the 2,650-mile Pacific Crest Trail running along the spine of the massive volcanic range that divides our home states.” But you’ll fully appreciate these stompers even if you don’t live in the Pacific Northwest and spend every weekend eating homemade energy bars on the trail.

These hikers feature Danner’s ultralight EXO Heel System and a rugged Vibram outsole.

Apart from the aforementioned features, these boots include a comfortable OrthoLite footbed that’s removable for drying out afterwards, a supportive heel counter dubbed the EXO Heel System, and, thanks to Filson, they’re done up in an appropriately rugged black-and-tan colorway, with subtle branding along the side and on the tongue. If you need an excuse to explore some new trails in your area, this is most certainly it.
