Used to be (read: 2014) that drones were good for two things: blowing things up and pissing off surveillance-averse neighbors

Naturally, the neighbors are now fighting back. With — you guessed it — drones.

Cardinal Robotics is introducing a surveillance drone for home use. The copter comes loaded with a 14-megapixel camera that weighs under two pounds and can film 1080p video smoothly on three-axis technology. It also sports an infrared camera and onboard infrared LED lights that allow it to film at night.

With the easy-to-use security device, all you have to do is connect to your smartphone, turn the drone on and leave your house. From there, you can take a couple remote laps whenever you feel like it to make sure all is quiet on the homefront.

The company claims that the Cardinal can fly for 20 minutes and completes a search of your property in just two, but no battery information has been released yet.

You can preorder the Cardinal now for $4,000 — which is $2,000 less than the expected price once it hits the market.

Can’t put a price on fending off those pesky neighbors.
