Miami Beach is the epicenter of manicured oceanside residences. But how can the area keep with the extravagance of the West Coast’s modern 21-bathroom Spanish Villas?

With private lagoons, naturally.

In an apparent attempt to bring some an old-Florida feel to mansion row, this 14,500-square-foot palace was designed with a 100’ x 30’ manmade lagoon running down the length of the property. It’s no showpiece either. Organically filtered, fish- and vegetation-filled, and totally swimmable, this is a lagoon fit for a creature in the black.

Designed by architect Marcio Kogan of Studio MK27, the luxurious estate also has more run-of-the-mill features.

Namely, six bedrooms, nine bathrooms, a winding ramp over the lagoon, a heated saltwater swimming pool, a dock for a yacht up to 90-feet-long and an empty wing which the listing recommends using as “a half-sized half basketball court, an entertaining hall for parties or hosting art exhibitions.”

And since the property is on a waterway, rather than an oceanside beach, you’ll get all the benefits of Florida’s benevolent weather without worrying about encroaching vacationers. For basking in said sunrays, the house has a rooftop patio, sunken lounge and deck that all look towards the ocean — as well sliding wood panels and glass doors on every bedroom for letting the sunshine in.

ONE Sotheby’s currently lists the home at a mere … $30 million.

But if you scoop it up and don’t have any money left for food, don’t fret. Just fire up the outdoor grill and snag a fish out of your lagoon — Florida-style.
