America has long been an advocate of all things super-sized, from cookie-cutter mansions to “value” meals to a certain giant wall being talked over a water cooler near you.

In at least one of those areas, though, there has been a decided movement toward downsizing over the last few years. We’re talking, of course, about the tiny home movement.

And now one of the OGs of said movement — Wisconsin’s Escape — has developed what is perhaps its handsomest unit yet: Vintage, a hitch-able rectangular trailer that can go completely off-the-grid thanks to the solar panels, water tanks and compost toilets integrated throughout.

As the name of its maker suggests, the Vintage is designed to escape from the trappings of modern life: it distills all the necessities into a singular, well-edited form while trimming out the fat.

Like the Vista, one of Escape’s two previous models, the Vintage offers a cozy workplace with large windows and ample natural light. But here, things are upgraded with a little backcountry chic: it has a bed, a loft for a second sleeping arrangement, a bathroom with an eco-friendly washer/dryer combo and tons of storage that add a sense of accessibility and order.

Order: there’s something we could all use a little more of.
