During the mid-1970s, Burt Reynolds was just about the hottest thing going on two legs.

One of the biggest reasons for that, besides the mustache and the machismo, was because Reynolds was nearly always behind the wheel of the hottest thing on four wheels.

In addition to being a Hollywood star, the Emmy-winning actor, who died Thursday morning at age 82, was “one of the great drivers in American popular culture,” according to The New York Times.

But, he wouldn’t have earned that title without a car to take him there.
