Kid Rock used strong language Tuesday to assert that he is no longer considering a run for U.S Senate in Michigan — and even mocked those who took his suggestion seriously.
“F–k no I’m not running for senate,” Rock, whose real name is Robert Ritchie, reportedly told radio host Howard Stern on his SiriusXM show. “Who couldn’t figure that out? I’m releasing a new album. I’m going on tour too. Are you f—— s——- me?”
The musician, whose new album comes out Nov. 3, added that considering the run was “the worst advice I ever gave myself.”
“But it’s been the most creative thing I’ve ever done,” Rock told Stern. “And I’ve gotten to see everyone’s true colors.”
The Detroit Free Press reports that the country’s current political climate has turned right-leaning Rock and left-leaning rapper Eminem into “high-profile political lightning rods.” Both from Michigan, Rock reportedly told Eminem’s manager Paul Rosenberg during the Pistons opener last week to not let this divide us.”
Eminem recently went viral for a freestyle rap that slammed President Trump and his supporters. The Pistons crowd cheered wildly when Eminem’s face was shown onscreen at the game, then booed loudly when Rock’s was showcased.
