For many Game of Thrones fans, Emilia Clarke’s Mother of Dragons is the mother of all beautiful women in the realm. But a case could be made for her loyal handmaiden.

British actress Nathalie Emmanuel, who plays Daenerys Targaryen’s closest advisor, Missandei is turning heads on the small and big screens.

Emmanuel, who’s also taken a couple of spins in The Fate of the Furious franchise, sat down with GQ for an interview and a photo shoot.

Of her Thrones role, Emmanuel told the magazine: “I’ve really enjoyed playing Missandei. She seems to be this very pure and strong person, and she’s overcome some atrocity, so she’s very grounded in this crazy world of villains and death and destruction.”
