Sometimes the most beautiful things are the most mundane. Take, for example, these mesmerizing videos of pills dissolving, tennis balls being manufactured, or a wind turbine blade on the move.

But this clip by Thomas Blanchard may take home the blue ribbon. The abstract artist, who frequently uses unconventional materials like cinnamon and honey, created a captivating kaleidoscope of colors by mixing paint, oil, and soap.

The result is a psychedelic, dream-like movement of wispy hues—as if somebody animated close-up images of planets. The captivating video art art is set to an amphoral soundtrack by West Coffee.

So pop in some headphones, tune in, turn on (this video), and drop out (i.e. home for the holiday).
