What the Truck?!

By The Editors

Because nobody stays inside in the summer, not even the chefs, we present this rundown of the top three food trucks you’ve gotta hit during the balmy season.

DönerMen

What to get: This wandering spit serves up some serious German-style döner kebabs of the chicken variety. Save room for the currywurst — their housemade (truck-made?) curry is killer. (Full menu here.)

Where to find ‘em: Hyde Park, the Garage or serving late-night crowds at watering holes like Maria’s in Bridgeport. Check their social (Facebook and Twitter) for updates.

Pierogi Wagon

What to get: Mobile pierogis made from scratch. Why didn’t this happen sooner? You want the braised beef topped with the works: grilled onion, bacon, sour cream and kraut. (Full menu here.)

Where to find ‘em: Hyde Park and the Loop. Peep their calendar here.

Jack’s Fork in the Road

What to get: You can’t miss this bright orange rig, and you definitely don’t wanna miss the roast pork loin sammy with an order of sweet potato fries. (Full menu here.)

Where to find ‘em: Most likely at 600 W. Chicago, or posted up at Clark and Monroe. Best to track their whereabouts via Twitter.

Nota bene: The Chicago Food Truck Finder is the most reliable source to help you find the trucks you desire.
