Fill In The Blank

By The Editors

In a city with shoulders big and small, there’s no such thing as one size fits all.

A Sandburg-meets-Seussian way of saying: buy clothes that fit, man.

And that’s what you’ll get with a one-on-one appointment at Blank Label’s River North showroom, a made-to-measure shirt-maker taking clients now

Your appointment comes with a glass of bourbon and two distinct seven-button options:

The dress shirt, cut from Italian fabrics in patterns of all kinds, with different cuff and collar types, monogramming — the works.

Or the casual shirt, with the same eye for customization but built from weekend-friendly fabrics.

Our favorite make-ups:

A soft, spread-collar look on red flannel gingham, a classic button-down in a brushed twill mini-gingham and a beautiful Japanese flannel cotton with a soft modified cutaway collar and French placket.

Their haberdasher will measure you, with nine sizing options from collar to shirt length to ensure a spot-on fit.

Once your order’s on the books, expect your threads to arrive at your door about a week later, and Blank Label will store your measurements online to expedite future purchases.

And like the Cat in the Hat, it’s as simple as that.
