Best way to make a birthday wish come true? Grant it yourself.

To celebrate their 70th anniversary — and specifically the 1948 debut of the Porsche 356/1, the original open roadster in spaceship aluminum  Porsche just unveiled the 911 Speedster Concept, a new-school auto outfitted with some very old-school components.

The gorgeous septuagenarian tribute derives its chassis and engine from the 911 GT3 and its body from the 911 Carrera 4 Cabriolet, before pumping in a line of early roadster-reminiscent mods. Case in point: a chopped off-speedster roof, coned rearview mirrors and an exposed fuel cap in the back hood. And, importantly: no AC, no radio. Less gizmos, more car.

The best part, though? That color scheme. Two-toned white and storm gray in the front, racing tags along the side and some outsized no. 70 racing livery on the doors.

You can find more info and count down the days till this one finds its way to production here.

Alles Gute zum Geburtstag, you speed-limit-averse son of a gun.
