Indian Motorcycles is now giving prospective customers a chance to try their bikes before they buy ’em.
The company is getting into the rental business with Indian Motorcycle Rentals, a service which is now available at nine participating dealerships in Tennessee, Georgia, Texas, Virginia, Missouri and California.
Under the terms of the rental program, customers with a motorcycle license can rent a 2019 model year Indian motorcycle for as short as four hours or as long as several weeks. Insurance is not required, as riders will be covered under the program given they sign the required waivers. Available models include the Scout, Chieftain or Springfield, and prices vary depending on model and length of the duration.
“Whether local or from out of town, Indian Motorcycle Rentals provides a premium experience for riders in need of a bike,” Indian Motorcycle marketing director Reid Wilson said in a statement. “With a rental fleet featuring the current model year lineup, riders will have the opportunity to experience the latest and greatest from Indian Motorcycle.”
In addition to helmets, riders are required to have additional safety gear including long pants, eye protection and close-toed shoes.
Though the program is limited, Indian does plans to expand its reach throughout the rest of the year.
