Pondering what you should spend that holiday bonus on?

Here’s a patently absurd option. One eBay vendor’s proffering a DeLorean hoverboat that’d drive Doc Brown to tears of utter joy.

For starters — this isn’t a DeLorean cemented onto a hoverbed. The “car” is actually styrofoam wrapped in fiberglass, which was then given a metallic paint exterior. The hovercraft, meanwhile, is based on blueprints for a Universal Hovercraft model, with a “thrust fan” and “lift fan.” Basically, think serious lawn mower engines, which help push the vehicle six-eight inches in the air, and up to 31-MPh over land. (Sorry Marty, not reaching 88-MPH this time around.) And while the vehicle looks at home over water, the listing claims it can glide over “anything relatively flat: land, water, ice, snow, sand or asphalt.”

Some helpful possibly pertinent info: the hovercraft slows down considerably with weight, (or up against the wind) it’s not allowed in National Parks and while hovering over water the cockpit is a splah zone.

If you actually want to buy this thing, head to the eBay listing here. 10% of the sale will benefit The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
