Red Bull’s Flugtag—German for “flight day”—is an annual sporting event that boasts homemade, human-powered flying machines. For the first time in its 25-year history, the event came to Boston, where 29 teams tested their crafts over the Charles River. And yes, most of them did spend far more time in the water than above it, as Bostonians proved themselves to be fearless, free-thinking, and not particularly aerodynamic.
