Swedish inventor Mikael Kjellman enjoyed riding his bike but ran into issues—just like everybody else—in the winter months. (Bicyclists all but disappear from the streets of New York City after a major ice- or snowstorm.) So Kjellman set out to design a bike-lover’s alternative.
What he came up with he’s calling the PodRide, a six-foot-long bike-car hybrid. It’s pedaled like a bicycle but has four 20-inch tires on the outside, which deal with tough surfaces. It also has an exterior made of fabric to keep its driver warm (and most importantly, dry) during cold-weather months. And there’s even room in the back for groceries or a small bag.
