This weekend, the U.N. passed harsh sanctions on North Korea to try to get them to curb their nuclear program. North Korea responded by threatening the United States territory of Guam.

Trump responded in kind, by saying North Korea should stop threatening the United States, or they will be met with “fire and fury, and frankly power, the likes of which this world has never seen before.”

Stephen Colbert took to his Late Show to point out Trump’s verbal tic for using “the likes of which” very frequently. He also said that “apparently Trump improvised ‘fire and fury’ because the paper he had in front of him was an opioid fact sheet.”

Trump’s offhand comments drew bipartisan criticism and since Colbert has studied improv, the TV talk show host gave the president some tips. He then went on to read “Rex Tillerson’s Sleepytime Tales.”
