A little while back, we clued you into the rise of the sneaker boot, a footwear hybrid that deftly marries the weather resistance and traction of a boot combined with the all-day cushion of a sneaker. Durability meets comfort. Win-win.

And while you can still grab a pair from several of the brands mentioned in that piece — from Teva to Timberland to Cole Haan — it bears noting that the folks at Vans have thrown their hat into the sneaker boot ring in pretty fantastic fashion (pardon the pun).

It’s safe to say Vans knows both sneakers and boots inside and out, having pioneered the worlds of both skate shoes and snowboard boots. Their latest All Weather MTE collection belies their expertise, with several different sneaker silhouettes beefed up with heavy duty tech like polar fleece linings, PrimaLoft insulation, grippy lug soles and extra-cushy footbeds. Couple that with brawny weatherproof outers in an absolutely bananas number of colorways, and odds are pretty much anyone can find a pair they’ll be stoked to pound the oncoming slush in.
