Snowmobile Double Blackflips Are Officially a Thing Humans Can Do

With enough speed and a steep takeoff, getting enough air to pull off a double backflip is easy.

It’s landing it without ending up like French gymnast Samir Ait Said did in Rio that’s difficult. Swedish snowmobile master Daniel Bodin, thankfully, is no Ait Said — but it took him two years to prove it. After more than 700 days perfecting his descent, takeoff and landing, the X Games gold medalist was finally able to pull off the world’s first double backflip on a snowmobile.

Bodin’s successful landing comes after Levi Lavalee’s first-ever double backflip attempt at the X-Games in 2009 and Justin Hoyer’s crashed bid two years later in 2011. 

“It can’t be described,” Bodin said of the rush. ”Nobody in this world can understand the feeling.”

Until anyone else is brave enough to give the trick a shot, we can confirm that claim is definitely true.
