Once you reach a certain age, you lose interest in going to bars.
But you never lose interest in bars coming to you.
Doing just that: Bar Car SF, a cherry 1965 Airstream trailer stocked with local brews, a sound system and a full liquor bar, now taking bookings just in time for office soireé season.
Bar Car is the newest project from the team behind Hobson’s Choice, Foreign Cinema and Mission Bowling club.
Unlike those watering holes, this one comes to you.
And it comes bearing gifts. The liquid kind.
On the suds front, you get to choose up to two draft options sourced from the Bay Area’s choicest brewhouses (21st Amendment, Lagunitas, Speakeasy, Magnolia).
Then you supplement that with a liquor and wine menu of your choosing.
On the day of your event, the Bar Car will pull up with all your party needs in tow: cocktail tables, bar stools, umbrellas and bar games. (Ed. note: make sure they bring the ping-pong table and teach you to play “Berlin style.”)
Their gingham-decked barhands take care of setup, service and cleanup, so all you have to do is plug in your favorite playlist (rumor has it the InsideHook Holiday Playlist is a crowd pleaser) and waggle an empty glass in the air when you need a refill.
So. Here’s to not going out tonight.
