Here’s Your Summer 2016 Outdoor Eating Bucket List.

Patios, ice cream, beer garden, (drinking) lawn. Repeat.

Here’s Your Summer 2016 Outdoor Eating Bucket List.

By The Editors

If you get lucky, weather wise, there’s nothing like a warm, sunny afternoon to make everything right in the world.

Day to day, we may or may not get lucky. Comes with the territory.

But when they do come, you gotta be ready to act fast.

Facilitating that: our shortlist of S.F.’s best outdoor eating venues. We’ve got beer, lavender ice cream, lobster rolls on Gatsby’s lawn, a Bavarian cheese extravaganza, more beer, oyster picnics and more beer.

‘Tis the season.

THE PATIO: NAKED LUNCH

Tell you the truth: We love the interior at Naked Lunch, as we would love any interior that came with a TV, bar stools and the city’s best fried chicken sandwich. The patio, though, is where we hope to spend the majority of our summer weekends checking out passersby and ordering as much as is gastrically possible to eat.

THE ICE CREAM JOINT: SCREAMIN’ MIMI’S

You’ll need to drive to Sebastopol for our superior ice cream option, but it’ll be worth it once the tubs of homemade lavender ice cream make their annual appearance.

THE BEERGARDEN: BIERGARTEN

Let us count the ways we love Biergarten: 1. They serve beer outside. 2. They serve beer outside beginning at three in the afternoon. 3. They sell a “Bavarian cheese mix of brie, camembert, butter, beer, shallots and paprika.” 4. All the above.

THE LAWN: PARK CHALET

Beach Chalet, out front, has the views, but Park Chalet’s the fun little sister around back. Cut out of work early and it’s like your own private Gatsby lawn. Settle into a couple Adirondacks and plan on a couple rounds of Park Mojitos and lobster rolls.

THE DAY TRIP: HOG ISLAND

We couldn’t love it more. Get to the oyster farm at Marshall Cove, kick back and slurp as much as you can. Raw or barbecued and served with a pitcher of beer. Pack ’em up for a picnic if you don’t mind doing the shucking yourself.
