Consider the Rooftop Hot-Tub Date

Consider the Rooftop Hot-Tub Date

By Shari Gab

“I want to take her to do something different.”

As InsideHook’s NY editor, this is the broken record I hear.

My answer: Go here. Do as follows.

Herein: a colorful plan that includes soaking in a hot tub with skyline views, dinner in a museum (kills every time) and an adult arcade. Adult means with cocktails.

Craw L/S Button Up Shirt, $250; Double Knit Camo Pullover, $347; Trevor Triangle Brogue Creeper, $345

The Fit: Public School
Consider Public School a cornerstone in go-to date gear. It looks sharp and it travels well. And this date has levels, so you’ll need something that says, “I can tell you the 18 noble grapes but am also looking forward to shaking it up a bit tonight.”

The Chill: Spa Castle Premier
Prep your partner in advance and make sure you snag some trunks, because you’re hitting the spa. Spa Castle’s no-children-allowed sister spa right here in the city features three stories of water lounges, meditation rooms, sleeping rooms and a little something called Sauna Valley. But you’ll likely spend most of your time, cocktail in hand, soaking in the hydrotherapy tubs on the roof, which kill every time — especially with a little added romantic snowfall.

The Chow: Storico
A hidden gem, Storico is tucked away in the New York Historical Society. Charming and an excellent bet for date eats, their new chef, Tim Kensett (formerly of River Café), is serving Italian-focused cuisine with a Coniglio Fritto for two meant to be eaten with your hands. Live a little.

The Fun: Fishbowl
You’ve got your culture fix for the night. Now it’s time for a cocktail. TAO Group’s newest venue Fishbowl is a retro adult playground. It has a 5,000-gallon fish tank, games like skee ball, mini bowling, vintage arcade games and an interactive photo booth.
