You’ve heard of Larry Ellison. Enterprise software guru, champion yachtsman, mansion collector.
Some might call him a visionary. An Oracle, even.
His latest vision: Nikita, a multi-decked ode to Rudolf Schindler’s Lovell Beach House, perched high above the Malibu sands and providing one helluva view of Point Dume.
Expertly built from teak wood and sandstone, Nikita brings a bit of San Francisco posh to an otherwise casual beach town.
You’ll want to plant yourself and the missus at the two-top at the far end of the deck.
Then order the Mediterranean-influenced Wagyu beef and succulent halibut, as prepared by Michelin-starred chef Massimiliano Blasone.
Pair with the Châteauneuf-du-Pape, a white grenache – the red drinker’s white. Follow that with the Gulfi Nerojbleo, a dense Sicilian red. Or ask master sommelier Renee-Nicole Kubin – of Gary Danko fame – to pick from their 500 bottles.
For dessert, try the Sicilian cannolo: two ricotta-filled cannolis with pistachios flown in from Italy and candied kumquats that were reduced for four days.
It’s all quite delicious. You’ll raise your glass to the view.
