Safe to say you don’t live in this city to spend your weekend on the sofa.

You go hiking. You ride a motorcycle. You go to the market. You put your feet up in the backyard and enjoy a beer. You do a casual dinner.

We know of approximately one shoe you can wear for all the above activities.

It’s made by Iron and Resin and Ridgemont Outfitters, two SoCal brands with similar aesthetics but rather disparate day jobs: the former makes moto gear, the latter hiking shoes.

Their collaboration, the Outback Riding Shoe, is a versatile all-weather sneaker-boot built with thick Horween leather, a completely waterproof inner sleeve, heavy-duty D-rings for the laces and a reinforced toe. It can handle whatever elements you throw at it, but the silhouette is a classic hi-top. The ribbed suede collar even has a hidden ankle bone protector for fending off gravel.

It’s ideal for a man who rides a café racer but also likes a casual hike around town. And it’s collecting funds on Kickstarter as we speak.

Kick a buck to help out your local makers; kick enough and you’ll have a pair to call your own.
