Becking Order

By Reuben Brody

From the driving, to the parking, to the not knowing where to drive or park, dinner in LA is harder than it should be. That’s why we created Dinner Plan — your three-step itinerary to a damn good time.

This week: a one-night only concert of new music curated by Beck, Spike Jonze and other industry heavies. Here’s your plan.

Start

Yes, there are food trucks where you’re going (no word on which ones as of post time). But those food trucks will have lines. So beforehand, fill up on squash blossom pizzas and bison tartare at The Stocking Frame, a woodsy gastropub a stone’s throw from the event. Also: be sure to sauce up on the house Sazerac.

Here’s your plan.

Block Party

What’s the best new music? Let’s ask Beck. And Spike Jonze. And Santigold. They’ve curated a show of hot new talent to be held at The Theater at the Ace Hotel this Friday night. It’s called Genesis, and it’s a fundraiser for hospitalized children brought to you by The Art of Elysium. Outside there will be food trucks and an art sale curated by Shepard Fairey.

Here’s your plan.

Post Party

It’s Friday. Let’s keep drinking. Regardless of your poison, the newly remodeled Broadway Bar will set you straight. It’s only a block east of the Ace. Looking to get twisted? Order their Dark and Stormy. Just need a refreshing beverage? Go with an ice-cold bottle of High Life.

Here’s your plan.
