Leatherman has carved a name for itself with its multi-tools, and aside from all of the compact functionality, it’s the heft that assures you that the you’re holding the right tool for the job.

But sometimes, as the saying goes, less is more.

Now Leatherman is set to introduce a lightweight pocket knife modeled after the company’s Skeletool multi-tool. And much like the multi-tool, the Skeletool Knife boasts a number of uses, from simple home gardening to local hiking to camping.

GearJunkie writer Stephen Regenold tested one, saying that while “these are hardly survival knives,” the new line is “made to replace a pocketknife.” The Skeletool collection is set to launch this June, and will include three styles weighing about an ounce with a serrated lower blade that, as Regenold noted, keeps its edge.

All great, but it’s that open format design that lets you see the blade when folded that’s got us jonesing. And at $25, the price is also tough to beat.
