Mornings are hard enough.

And these guys almost made ’em harder: A company called Stiff Bull recently launched an erection-enhancing instant coffee featuring a blend of “herbs that grow wild in the jungles of Malaysia and have been used for centuries … to greatly improve sexual health, libido and overall wellness.”

One problem: The coffee also contains an unlisted ingredient that’s similar to what’s found in Viagra.

In other words, unlike so many “male enhancement” supplements you can find on the internet, it might actually work.

As Vice’s food site Munchies points out, the coffee does contain natural ingredients like tongkat ali, maca root and guarana…but it also contains desmethyl carbodenafil, which is similar to sildenafil, an ingredient in Viagra.

The FDA is not excited.

“This undeclared ingredient may interact with nitrates found in some prescription drugs such as nitroglycerin and may lower blood pressure to dangerous levels,” the agency noted in a press release. It placed Stiff Bull on its list of Tainted Sexual Enhancement Products, home to such classy fare like “My Steel Woody” and “Sextra.”

While Stiff Bull’s website asks “Would you like to stay harder longer?” and claims their $9 coffee is “made for adults who want to have longer lasting more fulfilling sex,” they also know when they’ve been caught with their pants down. While blaming the manufacturer, the company is complying with the FDA and promises the next shipment will will not contain the offending ingredient.
