Boom! Roasted.

Boom! Roasted.

Boom! Roasted.

Your correspondent runs on two things.

One: coffee. Must be bold yet subtle. No pumpkin-spice lattes.

Two: efficiency. What’s the easiest way to get the best result?

Where the twain shall meet: new subscription coffee service Blue Bottle at Home, available now.

BB’s a beloved underground Oakland roaster (and personal fave — spoiler: it’s strong) with a refined MO: single-origin beans, vintage-gear roasting and tasting notes that veer in the direction of Proust.

E.g., “Like consuming a volume of In Search of Lost Time in liquid form … brooding and autumnal” (this one, if you’re interested).

Their new subscription service is a biweekly delivery for 12 oz. of beans, shipped out 24 hours after roasting.

Any blend, too, be it the buttery 17ft Ceiling espresso or Giant Steps, “a bear skin rug of coffee: cozy, refined and hearty.”

Subscriptions are refinable: bags can be halved, doubled or tripled. You can also adjust the delivery times (weekly, monthly, one-time gift, etc.) and choose coffee by type, like “single origin offerings from Latin America.”

Or, um, all decaf.

Not an idea worth subscribing to.
