Bothered by the outcome of the presidential election? Thrilled by it? Either way, comedian Andy Daly has come up with a next step that virtually everyone can get onboard with, no matter what his or her political leanings.
Daly, who stars in Comedy Central’s Review and has appeared in shows such as Silicon Valley and Eastbound and Down, recently completed a 3.5-hour filibuster in one take. He spends most of the time reciting the real opinions of Americans about Laphroaig scotch whiskey, including how the whiskey tastes like “a bowl of vanilla ice cream from inside a forest fire” and “a moldy rock you licked from the fireplace.”
It was a stunt that the comedic actor had to spend some time mulling over.
“When Laphroaig first approached me about the concept, I thought, ‘They want me to do what for how many hours?!’” said Daly. “But as soon as I became more familiar with the campaign and the wonderfully descriptive opinions submitted by people from around the country, I was sold. It was a unique and challenging undertaking, but so much fun to be a part of.”
