If I Were Eating a $15K Meal …

... the last place I'd want to be is Disneyland

If I Were Eating a $15K Meal …

By all accounts, Disneyland is a happy, magical, wondrous place for those under the age of 12 and/or not agoraphobic. So pardon me if the idea of 12 adults spending $15,000 on a meal there sounds like a nightmare.

Disney this week began taking reservations for its long-rumored 21 Royal restaurant, and yes, you read that right: the whole experience costs a whopping $15,000.

What’s in it for you? A private dinner for 12 inside what was supposed to be Walt Disney’s private residence. A few butlers. A cocktail hour. A guided seven-course menu. Free admission to the park. Also a balcony overlooking New Orleans Square. Worth nothing: you’ll be right above the Pirates of Caribbean ride.

It’s worth thinking about dining out, and what it means to dine out well, when trying to assess if you wanna go all-in on this experience. Or why so many people eventually will.

My two pennies: if I wanted to eat at a theme park, I’d just go to Guy’s American Kitchen and Bar in Times Square.
