Faster than his agent could say, “Abracadabra,” Jude Law has materialized into a major role in the Harry Potter film universe.

The British actor has been cast as the young version of Dumbledore—the wizard previously played by Michael Gambon and Richard Harris—in the sequel to last year’s Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Variety first reported.

The movie will be the second installment of a planned five-film series, based on the fictional textbook, “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them,” studied by Harry Potter and his classmates.

Since it’s set 60 years before the events of the Harry Potter movies, this version of Dumbledore has yet to rise to head of Hogwarts.

The script will be written by Harry Potter scribe J.K. Rowling herself, and a release date of November 16, 2018 has been set.

Eddie Redmayne will reprise his role as Newt Scamander, the creature-wrangler turned author behind the book. Also returning is Johnny Depp as the villainous Gellert Grindelwald and Katherine Waterston as an American witch.

Law is quite a tear recently, with high profile roles in the upcoming King Arthur: Legend of the Sword and as the lead in HBO’s The Young Pope.
