Earth to Star Wars fans: Darth Vader isn’t dead. He never had that weepy goodbye moment with his son, Luke, in Return of the Jedi. No looking like Billy Joel playing the harmonica.

That’s because Darth Vader’s alive and well and working as a surgical technician in Tennessee. Well, at least Darth Vader Williamson is working as a surgical technician.

According to CNN, the 39-year-old man works at St. Francis Hospital-Bartlett in Memphis. Back in April, the hospital recorded a video interview with Williamson, who says that his mother wanted to originally name him “Junior” after his father. But his “Star Wars buff” dad, who had become “enamored” with the character Darth Vader, thought it would make for a better name.

Williamson explained that his mother, under anesthesia during his birth, said yes, not realizing until later on what had happened.

But his parents stuck with the name, and it’s on his birth certificate. Watch the rest of the video about Williamson below.
