Emanule Dascanio
Italian artist Emanuele Dascanio recreates photographs using a Renaissance technique that requires hundreds of hours. Using charcoal and graphite, the Milan-based artist creates photo-realistic portraits. Each drawing can take anywhere from 100 to 780 hours to finish. Dascanio uses a single light source for his subjects, which gives the portraits a dramatic flair and helps to draw out every detail.
