Of all the aquatic creatures that hail from Slovenia, olms (aka “dragon babies”) are the weirdest.
But the Quadrofoil Q2S definitely finishes a close second.
A two-seat watercraft that channels design concepts from fighters jets, race cars and speedboats, the Q2S uses a set of wing-like hydrofoils to lift out of the water at a speed of 7 MPH.
Powered by a pair of lithium‐ion batteries, the limited edition model’s aerodynamic hull is hollow (making it very difficult to sink) and lightweight (making for maximum agility).
With an above-water top speed of around 25 MPH and a range of 60 miles on a full charge, the zero-emission Q2S offers a fun, albeit odd-looking, way to ride the waves without polluting them.
Sadly, since Quadrofoil inexplicably limited its first production run to 10 units, they’re sold out.
Happily, the company has started taking orders for its other models for the second half of 2017.
