According to the Prose Edda — a work of 13th century Norse literature — if the Fenyr is freed, “the earth will shake violently, trees will be uprooted and mountains will fall.”

Welp, hold onto your hats. Because something called the Fenyr is about to get loose for the first time stateside.

Named for the vicious Fenrir wolf from Norse mythology, the Fenyr SuperSport from Dubai-based W Motors is coming to North America for the first time for Monterey Car Week.

The coupe-style supercar (which was first revealed to the world at the Dubai Motor Show) has an aluminum chassis and a carbon composite body that houses a twin-turbo flat-six Fiat engine mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and a stainless steel exhaust system.

While all that muscle gives the car 900 ponies, a 0-62 MPH time of under 2.7 seconds and a top speed of nearly 250 miles per hour, the Fenyr still only weighs 2,650 pounds.

Given it only plans to build 25 Fenyr units in total, W Motors will likely only bring one model to Monterey, but it does plan to go on an “American Tour” and make stops at multiple locations around the country that have yet to be announced.

Fingers crossed you’re near one of ‘em.
