After two years of research and development, the AM37, Aston Martin’s first toe in the waters of nautical transportation, is officially ready for launch.

The luxury powerboat will be marketed as a day cruiser, but one whose below-deck lounge can be turned into a sleeping berth thanks to a table that transforms into a bed.

And like many road-going Astons, this one will be available in a sportier “S” variant, too, capable of slicing up the sea at a speed of 50 knots an hour.

“It was important to us when considering this project to make sure that the boat design was as beautiful and timeless as our cars, [and] the AM37 is a striking boat with fantastic proportion and elegance,” said Aston Martin’s chief creative officer, Marek Reichman. He and his design team, the same ones that in the past have created the company’s most exclusive offerings, from the One-77 hypercar to the current track-only Vulcan, worked in collaboration with Quintessence Yachts to bring the concept to fruition.

Called the AM37 as it is 37 feet long, the powerboat has a wraparound windshield created from a single piece of glass, and its carbon fiber dashboard with leather accents looks like it has been lifted straight out of an Aston Martin GT car.

When docked, owners can activate a carbon fiber cockpit cover at the touch of a key fob button.

“[It] is a pure translation of the Aston Martin DNA into an entirely new maritime concept,” said Reichman. “The most important attribute for Aston Martin is the design language and proportion, we have transferred this DNA into AM37.”

Below deck, the cabin offers leather seating for up to eight people, there is mood lighting, air conditioning, and an integrated coffee machine; as well as a refrigerator, microwave, and lavatory.

“It’s been an exciting journey, and we have relished partnering with Aston Martin on such a special project that blends craftsmanship with futuristic technology,” said Quintessence Yachts CEO, Mariella Mengozzi. “We took on the challenge to create a true revolution on the water and an extraordinary powerboat, and I’m delighted to present the AM37, a new way of experiencing life at sea.”
