Is This the Ultimate Vintage Lambo?

That's a rhetorical question.

Is This the Ultimate Vintage Lambo?

It takes but a moment to create an icon.

That May 25, 1965 worm’s eye of Muhammad Ali, one of TIME mag’s best photos of all time, where the champ is standing ominously over Sonny Liston as he bares his mouthguard and his flesh ripples and sinews and men in the audience crane their necks and raise their cameras to get a better look?

That moment only lasted a second. But it’s the definitive image of the greatest athlete of all time.

Every arena has those images. Those moments. Those icons.

And for Lamborghini, it’s that image up above. The Countach. It’s the angular, menacing, stupid sexy ride that pops into the noggin when someone whispers Laaaaaamboooo.

And now, she can be yours. The 1979 Lamborghini Countach LP400 Series 1 will slide across the auction block at RMSothebys on January 19-20, 2017, at the Arizona Concours d’Elegance.

A stunner of a design thanks to one Marcello Gandini of Bertone, more than 2,000 were produced. Of them, this gem was imported to the states in ‘84. It’s been kept in impeccable condition — rust and accident free — with a V12 that can still churn out 375 ponies.

They say money can’t buy happiness. But they say a lot of things.
