Even the New York Times has The Daily, a podcast that deep-dives into one big story while giving you a rundown of the headlines.
The Browser is another new approach worth considering. A fee-based subscription service that curates the best news stories of the day from around the web (like Charles Mann’s article on whether the world could feed a growing population) while allowing you to circumvent paywalls on most sites (The New Yorker or The Wall Street Journal, e.g.). It’s a quick read that’ll save you blushes at cocktail parties, and it only costs $34 a year.
They also include a culture story, podcast, quote of the day and video, and your subscription allows you to save the articles to your Kindle or reader for later viewing.
