iFly is basically an enclosed tube with a trampoline and a thousand horsepower fan at the bottom. Clever intake technology makes for an edge-to-edge updraft — meaning no sudden drops if you drift from center.
Avoiding sudden drops is the point, after all.
How high you rise depends on your skill level. The wind dials all the way to 175 MPH — making for a cruising altitude of up to thirty feet for the expert who’s managed his nightly cerveza intake.
The rig can be dialed back for rugrats, too, and it can handle at least as many bodies as your car can carry to Union City.
And of course, everything you learn in the tube can be applied to an actual freefall — if you’re feeling unnatural and want to jump out of a perfectly good airplane.
