The Comanche—a custom-built, 100-foot racing yacht—has been dominating the world of professional sailing.

So skipper Ken Reed, elite navigator Stan Honey and a crew of sailing all- stars decide to set their sights on sailing’s Holy Grail: Breaking the transatlantic record.

It is a grueling journey of 2,880 nautical miles from New York to the southern tip on England. If the crew and their ship could break the mark, the Comanche will be secured as one of the most successful boats in sailing history.

Precisely five days, 14 hours, 21 minutes and 25 seconds after the crew set sail, the Comanche’s crew shattered the world record by more than a day and a half.

Great Big Story calls it one of the most “amazing and inspiring journeys to ever take place on film.” See for yourself.
