  • Downtown

Brought to you by the SugarFish clan, this tiny spot has a quaint patio where you can order hand rolls filled with warm, sticky rice and toro or blue crab. Ideal for lunch or pre-show.

  • Palm Springs

    Purple Palm

Before the Colony Palms became the posh hotel that it is today, it was a notorious hangout for the Purple Gang’s leader, Al Wertheimer. So when the hotel updated its restaurant, they christened its swanky, Moroccan-themed walls the Purple Palm. They also elevated the grub, with offerings like quinoa crusted halibut.

  • West Hollywood

    Hyde Sunset Kitchen + Cocktails

Because she’s young (or wants to feel so), take her to Hyde Sunset Kitchen + Cocktails, SBE’s recently upgraded Hyde Lounge. They’ve pulled out all the stops here, with delicious dishes of pea ravioli and sweetbreads, plus refreshing cocktails like the Pony Express that’ll make you feel young, too. Giddy up.

  • Newport Beach

    Oak Grill and Aqua Lounge

Why go to Newport? Wide beaches and great surf (Blackies). Just stay the night at the Island Hotel. Their new restaurant, Oak Grill, serves a mean pork chop and a delicate Chilean sea bass. After dinner, take your Boulevardier to Oak’s massive patio (the largest in Newport).

  • Sherman Oaks

    Tipsy Cow

On Ventura Blvd., not three blocks from the roar of the 405, the newly opened Tipsy Cow is sizzling grass-fed patties on their flattop grill. They’re ladling tipsy sauces full of creams and spices, and melting Tillamook cheddar or Maytag blue cheese on a soft sesame bun. Order one with a Belgian saison from the 32-handled bar.
